Warm weather has officially arrived which means we’re in the heart of the 2014 patio season! We’ve been hard at work at USA Outdoor keeping our online catalog up to date with the latest while also trying to enjoy the spots of nice weather that are rolling in over our great country. That being said, we’d be remiss not to take this time to highlight our favorite wicker furniture manufacturer, Lloyd Flanders, and what they introduced earlier this year. Developed from the mind of renowned designer John Caldwell, Flair showcases contemporary lines paired with the traditional appeal of Lloyd Flanders SunLoom Vinyl wicker and is really all about options for the outdoor living space. Offering a number of standalone and modular units, Flair capitalizes on the success of the widely popular Contempo collection, yet remains unique with its subtle curves and flared out arms; perfect for creating a laid back yet modern atmosphere for your patio lounge, living room or dining area.
When it comes to the seating, Flair’s sectionals are certainly spacious and comfortable, but a personal favorite of ours is the Glider Lounge Chair paired with gliding ottoman (set can be purchased here) as a means for single serve outdoor relaxation on a lazy Saturday. Accompanying Flair’s seating options are a number of Pen Air Accent Tables as well as 2 dining tables (square and rectangle shaped.) The accent tables complement the contemporary style of the seating with their geometric shapes and the addition of shelf space creates open air storage for keeping that outdoor clutter to a minimum.
Breaking away from wicker, Lloyd Flanders has also introduced a new line of tables for the 2014 season designed to complement any of the company’s existing seating-based collections. Teak is one of the most popular materials for outdoor furniture as the natural golden brown color eventually turns into a aged silver (patina) that is a highly sought after look, so it’s a no brainer that Lloyd Flanders would unveil a line of teak tables to stay competitive in the market (could this mean a Lloyd Flanders teak line of seating in the future? Only time will tell.) These tables range in size and are generally square or rectangle shaped, though the collection does features a 48 inch round table, and are created with a distressed look from the get go so you don’t have to wait for that antique look to come naturally with time.
